Do you need my manuscript?

No. To register your book, we only need its metadata, such as the title, subtitle, contributors, format and genre. That's why there's no manuscript upload. You can add a front cover, but it's optional.

You don't need to give us any details about your book to get an ISBN. You add the metadata later, when you register your book.

Copyright registration and press releases work differently: for those services, we need your manuscript. See How does copyright registration work? and How does the press release service work?.
