Register your book
Register your book in the portal to link it to your ISBN and list it on Bookwire. Registering in our portal is the same single step as registering the book with Bowker, the US national ISBN agency. Your book appears on Bookwire within about 5 business days.
- On the ISBNs page, click Register your book next to an Available ISBN. You can also click Register a Book on the Books page.
- Under Title Information, choose the ISBN and enter the title, subtitle and description.
- Under Format & Genre, choose the medium, format and genre. A second genre is optional.
- Under Authors & Contributors, click Add Contributor for each author and other contributor.
- Add a front cover, or skip this step and add it later.
- Under Publication & Pricing, enter the publication date, title status, target audience and price.
- On the Overview, check everything, then click Submit to Bowker.
We don't need your manuscript, only these details.
Check these details before you submit, since you can't change them yourself afterward:
- Title and subtitle: we can only make small corrections.
- Contributors: you can't add or remove them or change their type, and we can only make small corrections to names.
- Medium, format and genres: permanent.

Registering another format
Each format of your book needs its own ISBN and its own registration. To save time, open your book's page and click Clone Book. Choose an available ISBN and the new medium and format, then click Clone. This registers the new format straight away, with your book's details, cover and contributors, so check the medium and format first. If you switch between audio and print or ebook, you also choose the genre again.
