Generate a barcode

Generate a free barcode for your ISBN in the portal, or with our public barcode generator without logging in. You don't need Bowker's paid barcode.

In the portal

1. Log in on our login page and go to the ISBNs page.
2. Click the barcode icon at the far right of your ISBN.
3. Keep ISBN barcode only, or choose ISBN with price barcode to add a price.
4. Click Generate Barcode, then download the format you need.

Without logging in

Use the ISBN barcode generator on our website.

Formats

You can download your barcode as PNG, JPG, SVG or PDF. For a print cover, use PDF or SVG. For digital use, such as on a website, use PNG.

Price add-on

You can add the price to your barcode as an EAN-5 add-on. For most self-published books, we recommend leaving it out. See Should I include the price in my barcode?.

Publishing on Amazon KDP

If your print cover has no barcode, KDP adds one to the back cover.
