How many ISBNs do I need?

You need a separate ISBN for each format of your book. A paperback, a hardcover, an ebook and an audiobook each need their own ISBN.

Our ISBNs work for print, ebook and audiobook editions. You register each format separately, with its own ISBN.

A new edition with substantial changes also needs a new ISBN. Correcting typos or making small edits inside the book doesn't. See Do I need a new ISBN if I correct typos?.
