How can I check that my ISBN is genuine?

Search for your book on Bookwire, Bowker's public ISBN database. Bookwire is the only authoritative ISBN search: if your book is there, it's registered correctly.

Your book appears on Bookwire within about 5 business days after you register it in our portal. An ISBN that you use without registering a book to it won't appear there. When the status on your book's page in the portal changes to Active, a View Listing link appears that searches Bookwire for your ISBN.
