Fix the KDP error "The title registered to this ISBN does not match your title"
Enter your title and subtitle on Amazon KDP exactly as they're registered to your ISBN. KDP shows this error when they differ, even slightly.
- Open your book's page in the portal. The registered title and subtitle are under Title Information.
- Copy them exactly as they appear there.
- Paste them into KDP.
If you still get the error
- On your book's page in the portal, click View Listing to find your book on Bookwire.
- Copy the title and subtitle exactly as Bookwire shows them. Bowker sometimes makes small changes when it registers a title.
- If KDP still shows the error, log out of KDP, open a private (incognito) browser window, log in again and try once more.
If the registered title or subtitle has a typo, contact us through the help widget and we'll correct it. A change that makes it a different book requires a new ISBN, per national ISBN agency guidelines. See Can I correct a typo in my title, subtitle or author name?.
