Can I use my ISBN on IngramSpark?
No. IngramSpark only accepts ISBNs where you're the publisher, not ISBNs assigned by a third-party publisher, which is how our ISBNs work. That's not a limit of the ISBN: our ISBNs are valid and accepted by the other major platforms.
If you need IngramSpark, get your ISBN from the national ISBN agency in your country. In the United States, that's Bowker.
These platforms reach the Ingram network instead:
- Amazon KDP Expanded Distribution
- Lulu
- PublishDrive
For new authors, we recommend starting with KDP plus Expanded Distribution, which runs through Ingram, and adding other platforms later.
IngramSpark also asks for an ISBN-owner form. We don't submit it, since it would link our whole ISBN block to a single customer.
