How to fix the error "The title registered to this ISBN does not match your title." on Amazon KDP?

When you register your book through our platform, the ISBN becomes permanently linked to the specific title you provided. This means you cannot use the ISBN for any other title or make changes to the title already on file.

To use your ISBN on Amazon KDP, the title must match exactly with the one registered with the national ISBN agency. Even a small typo, extra space, or word change can trigger this error.

How to confirm the correct book title:

  1. Login to our portal.
  2. Go to the Books page, select your book, and look to the right of “Title.”
  3. Click on “View book on Bookwire.”

The title listed on Bookwire is the one you should enter in KDP. It’s important to refer to Bookwire, not the title registered with us, because Bowker (the ISBN agency) may make minor adjustments to your title based on their policies.

To avoid errors, copy and paste the title directly from Bookwire into KDP.
