It not only serves as a marketing tool but also helps preserve the book's pages and aids in easy identification and retrieval.
Bookland Barcode - A unique barcode assigned to book editions, containing encoded information like the ISBN, used for scanning and managing book sales and inventory.
Bookwire - A digital platform that helps publishers and authors distribute, market, and sell books in digital formats, with additional analytics and promotional services.
Bowker - A company providing bibliographic information services, assigning ISBNs to books, and maintaining a global book database.
Contributor Type - A contributor can be an individual "Person" or a group that is denoted as "Company."
Description - This is a short synopsis of the book While this is not a required field, many book retailers utilize this information in their product descriptions about your book, and research indicates that this is an important sales tool in helping a potential customer select your title.
Format - The physical or virtual format of the product. Choose the binding(s) most appropriate for the product from the drop-down list.
Genre - The principal idea or topic of a published work
Imprint - A distinct brand or label under which books are published, representing a specific publishing division or subsidiary within a company.
ISBN - ISBN stands for International Standard Book Number, which is a unique numeric identifier assigned to each edition and variation of a book. It helps in cataloging and identifying books worldwide, ensuring that each title has a distinct identification code. ISBNs assist in tracking book sales, publishers, libraries, and booksellers, making it easier to manage and distribute books across different platforms and markets.
Medium - This field is where you select if this is a printed version of a title, or an electronic version.
Portal - An online platform or website serving as a gateway to specific information, services, or resources.
Publication Date - The date on which a retail consumer or library may take possession of a product. Enter publication date in the drop-down fields provided.
Sort Title - The identifying name given to a published work. Enter the full title in mixed case exactly as it appears on the title page of the book. Do not include additional information such as subtitle, order number, edition number, volume number, etc., in the title.
Stripe - An online payment processing platform enabling businesses to accept secure electronic payments via various methods like credit cards and digital wallets.
Subtitle - A secondary or explanatory title that follows the main title. Subtitles often add details or strengthen the meaning of the main title. Enter the subtitle in mixed case as it appears on the title page of the book.
Target Audience - Identifies the broad type of readers/users for whom the product is intended. Choose one Audience from the drop-down list. Select Trade if the book is for a general adult readership. (This is the most commonly used choice.)
Title Status - Indicates the availability of the Title. Choose one status from the drop-down list. Titles currently available for sale through publisher, distributor, or wholesaler are Active Records.
